RYAN MAR

Ryan is a classically trained pianist. He studied piano performance at CSU Sacramento under pianist Kirsten Smith and graduated with a Bachelor of Music in the Fall of 2016. His favorite composers to play are Chopin, Beethoven, and Brahms.

Over the course of five years, Ryan has worked with a multitude of students ranging from young children, children with autism, teenagers, and adults. His forte is teaching beginner piano students and helping them transform into intermediate students. 

Ryan’s approach to learning is simple: provide as much as possible so that students can find joy and different facets of the piano. He is careful in utilizing different techniques to help each student achieve the best musicality in each piece or song. He loves to help students engage the music to stories, experiences, and memories to help make the music come to life. While perfection is great, he believes progress and discovery in the process is far more rewarding than being note perfect. Ryan believes learning any instrument is vital in unlocking a person’s creative outlet. Learning music should be fun for everyone!
