GROUP CLASSES

Sayla Music Academy seeks to provide diverse and adaptive curriculum for all ages. We offer group courses to encourage and inspire young or inexperienced musicians, providing an alternative to traditional one-on-one, private lessons.

Prelude Group Classes (Ages 2-5)

PRELUDE General Music Group Class:

Teachers: Samantha, Maribel, Jenny

A 30-minute music and movement class that not only teaches children music, but promotes your child's physical development, listening and communication skills, social and emotional development, and creativity. Each child will participate at his or her own level in singing, moving, chanting, watching, listening, and exploring musical instruments. We will sing along with songs, make animal sounds, learn rhythm, and have plenty of fun. This class is built to engage your child's natural love of music and activate their imagination.

Interlude Group Classes (Ages 6-7)

Interlude Piano Group Class:

Teacher: Maribel

Have fun learning piano with friends! Our group piano class provides students with an excellent introduction to the keyboard and prepares them for private lessons. Students will begin to develop the skills of playing music with their peers. Playing with peers provides a fun, relaxed environment for the students to practice together, play duets and perform for one another.

Our teachers will focus on developing the students' important keyboard skills, hand position, note-reading, rhythm and theory while rehearsing a variety of repertoire.

Interlude VOICE Group Class:

Teacher: Maribel

If your child loves to sing, enroll them in our Interlude group singing class! Students will discover their voices and learn to sing with their peers. Our teachers will introduce musical skills to help students become careful listeners, better singers, and build confidence in an environment that emphasizes teamwork and fun! Students are encouraged to express themselves and develop a lifelong love for singing and music. Our classes will introduce pitch, rhythm, solfege, basic note reading, breath, ear training and performance.

Interlude UKULELE Group Class:

Teacher: Andre

This class is a great way to learn ukulele in a fun group setting. Students will sing, play and develop musicianship skills together. We'll work on chords and strumming, and learn a few songs that are great for beginners. This class accepts students ages 6-12.

Interlude Drum Class:

Teacher: Andrew

Welcome to the exciting world of drumming! This engaging and interactive course is for children, ages 4-7, who are eager to explore the sounds of drums and percussion. Through fun-filled activities, games, and hands-on experiences, this class aims to introduce young drummers to the fundamentals of rhythm, while fostering their creativity, hand-eye coordination, and active listening abilities. Additionally, students will attain basic musical knowledge and ensemble experience through weekly group performance.

Interlude GENERAL MUSIC Group Class:

Teachers: Jenny, Alejo

Our general music classes are designed to foster growth in our students' self-expression, innovative thinking and music literacy in a fun group setting. We will explore many elements of music; rhythm, tempo, pitch, and dynamics. Students will sing, play and explore different instruments with activities designed to nurture their musical development. This class is the perfect introduction to the musical world!

Spanish for Beginners: Group Class

Teachers: Alejo Izaguirre

We are now offering group classes that focus on teaching the basics of Spanish! In this semester long course, students will learn vocabulary, common phrases, and basic grammar through engaging games, assignments, and songs! Class sizes are limited to 6 children and classes are available for ages 8 - 12. Our class is taught by Alejo Izaguirre who holds a degree in education and also possesses a native fluency in Spanish.
