Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best age to start taking lessons?

We offer lessons for ALL ages! Prelude toddler classes are offered from ages 2-5 and Interlude group classes are offered to ages 6-7. Normal 30-minute lessons start about age 7 and students have a chance to participate in our community choir and orchestra! We also offer lessons and ensembles for adults so it is never too late to learn music.

How do I pay for lessons?

Our primary form of payment is a debit or credit card auto-pay. Our enrollment process includes a down payment of the first lesson to reserve your time and teacher as well as a $25 enrollment fee. Tuition is taken out monthly before lessons take place and is communicated with your teacher on or before the 25th of the month before. We are no longer accepting cash or check as a consistent form of payment for our regular lesson services. However, you use cash or check to enroll in a course, program, or recital.

How many lessons a month do I take?

Students are expected to attend lessons on a weekly basis to develop a solid foundation for their musical education. Vacations and weeks off can be communicated in advance directly with the teacher you are enrolled with. There is a minimum requirement of 3 lessons a month on average if a student is to be enrolled in the Academy. Exceptions apply to months with nationally recognized holidays or teacher absences.

What are your policies on Missing lessons?

If a conflict occurs and a student is unable to attend a lesson, we require at least 24 hours notice of the schedule change to receive a make up lesson. The make up lesson must then occur within the same month that the original lesson took place.
